It was yesterday that I realised. I was watching Lost, specifically the season three episode where Mr Eko dies. And I thought to myself, "That Mr Eko is a badass and I wish I was as cool as him". And then it occured to me that Mr Eko reminded me of somebody, but I wasn't sure who. Then I realised he reminded me of you.
Now perhaps this is a tenuous link and I don't know if I can explain it. But you, I've always felt, are really the kind of person we should all be. You've got something in life, like Mr Eko, that you want to do and that's the army, which is more than most. You're Somalian, like Mr Eko. But unlike Mr Eko, you're an ace guy who I enjoy the company of, and you've haven't yet been killed by smoke.
And as I type this I realise that I've digressed completely and shouldn't even be talking about Mr Eko, because it's you who I'll miss when I'm gone and it's you who has been there for these few years to make me laugh and make good flash with, and to just generally ninja the fuck out with.
